Word of the day: Disquietude: n. The state of disquiet; uneasiness.
Interviewing is more time consuming than I initially perceived it to be. On the eve of yet another interview, I'm once again poring through a company's website knowing every subtle nuance that distinguishes the firm from another. Amidst the time it takes to research each firm adequately and thoroughly while remembering all my go to points for those "Common Questions", it's definitely no cake walk. And with the state of the job market as it is, the stakes couldn't be higher (I'm sure there are those who are wallowing in their own sorrow as we speak).
BUT, it's all the more frustrating when "we'll get back to you in a couple of days" drags onto a couple of weeks instead. My impatience only manifests itself as a lack of self-confidence on my part: Did I do something wrong? Was the interview that bad than I thought it was? Perhaps they don't even bother to get back to me? Should I call?
Indeed, all I can say so far is that this process has been nothing short of a test of patience and confidence. Sure, It's been stressful, and my mind is suffering from a bout of disquietude, but this struggle only makes the reward all the more worthwhile.
And granted, while success in the form of a job offer is definitely a godsend, denial is too. Look forward to a summer status update in the following weeks to come.
